Community Wide Hebrew High School Program

Classes held Wednesday 4:30 - 6:00 PM for children in Grades 3-7;  Sunday from 9:30 - 12:00 noon for all grades

Activities and Projects

  • Special Sunday morning programming, including specialist for art and music.   
  • Tikkun Olam/community service based curriculum including year-long mitzvah and tzedakah projects for each classs. 
  • Students contributed over $1,000 annually in tzedakah for local, national and international charities, both Jewish and secular.
  • Weekly canned food drive is donated to Jewish Family Service Food Pantry. 
  • Special contributions by Religious School children at Chanukah to feed hungry clients at local soup kitchen.
  • Outstanding, committed faculty provide engaging activities in a loving, nurturing environment.
  • Each child is unique; special learning concerns addressed.
  • Parallel Education for parents on Sunday mornings.
     

    SPECIAL EVENTS

    • Shabbat student-led services each month
    • Interactive Family education programming (Kindergarten Sh'ma program; 2nd grade Hebrew name program; High Holiday, Chanukah, Tu B'Shvat, Passover special events, participation in community-wide Purim carnival, and more).
    • Yom Hashoah programming
    • Israel Programming
    • Annual Woldorf memorial program- On Sunday, October 24, 2010, acclaimed Jewish singer Sheldon Low will present a concert at 11:00 AM.
    • 7th grade has unique "Community as a  Classroom" curriculum which includes visits to local Jewish communal institutions such as mikvah, Jewish Group Homes, other synagogues, and Jewish funeral home; community service; volunteerism at Jewish Home, local soup kitchen, Holocaust monument. 
    • Second half of 7th grade year includes intensive unit on Holocaust ending with a visit by a Holocaust survivor and a family trip to US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.
